Bernhard Langer and his son, Jason, return to defend their title at the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando on December 20–21, with Tiger and Charlie Woods notably absent.

“For me personally, it just makes me focus even more,” Langer said of being, ahem, not quite the people’s choice. Reflecting on his 2024 win, Langer added, “I seem to enjoy that challenge — to be the underdog or to play in tough circumstances. It just helps me to zero in even more.”

Langer enters this year’s PNC Championship with a weaker competitive record than in previous seasons, having posted zero wins and just six top-10 finishes on the 2025 PGA Tour Champions. In 2024, Langer recorded one win, a runner-up finish, and eight top-10s in only 16 events.

John Daly and John Daly II arrive at the PNC Championship with momentum, not from the senior Daly, but from “Little John.” Daly Jr.’s 2025 season has been stellar, highlighted by wins at the Southern Amateur, Blessings Collegiate Invitational, and Columbia Springs Invitational. He also enjoyed an impressive spring campaign, leading the Arkansas Razorbacks in scoring average at 72.21.

By contrast, Daly Sr.’s 2025 season lacked the accomplishments of his son. In 10 events, he made every cut but failed to crack the top 25 a single time. The Dalys previously won this event in 2021.

“I’ve always told the media for years the greatest days of my life were seeing my kids born,” Daly Sr. said. “You can’t top that. To be here and win a big tournament like this with my son — nothing can beat it.”

Annika Sörenstam will once again team up with her son, Will McGee. In 2024, the duo began the final day three shots back and finished 11th overall. Will has now surpassed his mother in height and has begun competing more seriously.

“It is so special to be here,” Sörenstam said. “We have tears coming down in the end just because golf has given us — given me — so much, and now it continues to give. Just to be here with him and Mike and Ava and the family, my dad out there — it just means so much more.”

“It was just such a fun time,” Will added, tearing up again. “And we only get to do it once a year.”

In addition to Team Woods, Sir Nick Faldo and Gary Player will also not compete in this year’s tournament. Replacing them: Jim Furyk and his son, Tanner, who return after a year off; Davis Love III and his son, Dru, two-time winners in 2012 and 2018; and Gary Woodland and his dad, Dan, who make their tournament debut.
